This is who I am

Why hello. Welcome to the place where my dreams roam. I suppose you ought to know who I am.
I go by many names. Here, you may refer to me as Delta. Of course, you can use my other names, if you know them.
The Earth was blessed with my presence on 10th January. Of course, this means that my birthstone is the GARNET. Oh, I'm a Capricon too, of course. And I was born in the year of the PIG.
I am a girl who prefers to be left alone when it is OBVIOUS that I want to be. People may mistake these signs for my Emo mode, and then come and bother me, trying to 'cheer me up'. If I suddenly stop talking to you, it means that I'm in my 'Deep Thoughts' mode. Just don't talk to me. I'll go back to my normal, default mode soon.

Random post... Cos Blog Mistress was bored and wanted to write... Dunno why, but after receiving countless romance requests, my mind is stuck in romance mode... Gomenasai to those who find romance nauseating...

Do you believe in destiny? Well, I do. After all, it is destiny that I go to the same high school as him.
It is also destiny that I have fallen for him.
It is also destiny that he loves another.
And of course, it is destiny that I tell my tale to you now, heartbroken.
I have only my naivete to blame. How could I have been so foolish to think that I still stood a chance of winning him over, even when it was so evident that his heart belonged to another? How stupid could I get? Now his heart is lost to me forever...
I remember the day of the first meeting clearly. My first day at a new school. It was he who reached out to this shy stranger. It was his smile that lit up the first semester of my life in school. From that day onwards, we were placed in the same class, and with each passing day, I fell for him more and more. I once asked him if he liked somebody, and he nodded. My hopes were crushed, but deep down inside, a small flicker remained.
If I love you with all my heart, would you love me then?
When I next worked up the courage to ask him another question, I asked him to tell me, bit by bit, about the traits of the lucky girl he liked. He agreed readily. The first thing I learnt about her was her kindly smile, one that, like his, lit up the lives of those around her. My heart sank slightly; her smile I would never be able to imitate.
If I smile for you, would you love me then?
I learnt next that she had a warm heart and a listening ear, qualities to be looked for in a friendship ready to be taken to the next level, according to him. I shifted nervously; in my previous school, I had been refered to as the antisocial Ice Princess. Even now, pupils referred to me as a solitary lone wolf.

Her third quality was a melodious singing voice, one that could charm the birds out of the trees. This remark stung slightly. Just moments before, the snide substitute music teacher had passed a rather disparaging comment about my singing. He claimed that he had heard donkeys with more melodic 'hee-haw's.

He told me next that her eyes sparkled like diamonds in a coal mine and reflected a sort of cool elegance.
Elegance...?
I suppose that I had been in the wrong queue when they were giving out elegance. I was one of the klutziest kids in school, unlike those dumb blondes in pink who trotted around in heels. In fact, the only thing that kept me from tripping over my feet in school was the fact that I wore sneakers, not stilettos. And my eyes.
Diamonds?
Ugh. Yeah, right.
If I learn the essence of elegance for you, would you love me then?
He told me next about her unique and vibrant personality. Apparently, his dream girl stood up for her own beliefs and he admired her for it.
Typical. I stand up for myself and people call me stubborn. But she stands up for herself and she gets ADMIRED for it!
If I stand out for you, would you love me then?
The list of virtues went on and on...
My flame of hope slowly died out...
Then...
Then came the fateful day.
He came to school, eyes swollen and bloodshot. Almost as if he had been crying. Concerned, I walked over and asked him why. The reply made me wish that I had not asked him that question at all.
"Someone I care about died protecting me yesterday in a hit-and-run. She... she... I..."
He could not finish his sentence; he started to shed silent tears.
My heart plummeted from its perch and shattered into a million pieces, staining the floor with unused love. The cold waters of reality extinguished any flicker of hope left in my shattered being. My world came falling around me. It was over.
All of it.
Over.
It must've been her. His dream girl.
She died.
For him.
I stood no chance.
It was over; I could never win his heart.
I choked back tears as I comforted him, trying to hide my own sorrow.

If I...
If I die for you, would you...
Would you love me then?
